Threatening the Tooth Fairy
Day 18/365
Alissa had the most perfect baby teeth. Every tooth was the perfect size. They were spaced perfectly. Between her perfect teeth and the dimples that only show up when she smiles, she could stop your heart with a grin.
Unfortunately, perfect sized baby teeth do not save enough space for big teeth. When Alissa lost her first couple of teeth, the ones that came in were more than twice the size of the ones the fell out. The pattern continued as she lost more teeth. Her poor big teeth are so scrunched in!
She had a dentist appointment today. The dentist discovered another big tooth trying to come in about 1/2 in above her gum line! Her baby tooth was not loose at all so the baby tooth had to be pulled. It wasn't hard for him to pull it. It didn't have any roots. That little baby tooth was just lodged in there so tight it wasn't coming out without a little help.
Before she went to bed, she informed me she was putting the tooth under her pillow. Laughingly I asked her why. She has known the truth about such things for a couple years.
She looked me square in the eye and said, "Because I'm expecting the tooth fairy to pay me for this tooth. And I would like at least a dollar."
I guess I need to hunt up a dollar.
